Confessions of a Former Drive Thru Queen π©π»π€
If you’re new around here, welcome! And if you’ve been hanging out with me for a while, thank you for being part of this amazing community. I thought it might be a good time to reintroduce myself and share a little about who I am and why I’m so passionate about helping people feel more confident in the kitchen.
My name is Robin Garcia, and I live in San Antonio, Texas. I’m a retired educator, a proud mom of three amazing sons, and a dog mom to Lokiβmy spoiled fur baby and unofficial kitchen supervisor.
Here’s something that might surprise you…
I didn’t really start cooking until I was 50 years old.
For years, I was what I like to call a “heater-upper.” Fast food, takeout, and convenience meals were often my go-to because life was busy, and cooking felt overwhelming. I honestly didn’t think of myself as someone who could cook.
Then something changed.
I discovered Pampered Chef.
What started as a way to find some helpful kitchen tools quickly became so much more. I learned that cooking didn’t have to be complicated. It didn’t require fancy skills or hours in the kitchen. With the right tools, simple recipes, and a little confidence, I realized I could make delicious meals at home.
Today, I love cooking.
I love trying new recipes. I love finding shortcuts that save time. I love meal planning (most days anyway!). And most of all, I love helping other busy people discover that they can do this too.
My mission is simple:
Help families ditch the drive-thru and get back to enjoying meals at home.
Not because every meal has to be perfect.
Not because we never eat out.
But because home-cooked meals create memories, save money, and help us feel better.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed a few things about me:
β I drink my coffee black.
π I’m a big reader and love getting lost in a good book.
π₯ I’m currently in my salad era.
πππ I get ridiculously excited about fresh summer produce.
π° I have a serious sweet tooth.
πΆββοΈ Daily walks are a non-negotiable for me.
πΎ Loki is absolutely spoiled and proudly lives his best life.
π I believe cooking should be fun, not stressful.
Through this blog, my social media, videos, and emails, my goal is to share recipes, kitchen tips, meal-planning ideas, and encouragement that make life just a little easier.
Whether you’re an experienced home cook or someone who still feels intimidated by the kitchen, you’re welcome here.
Before I go, I wanted to leave you with one of my favorite recipes: Chicken & Kale Braid.
It’s comforting, flavorful, and one of those recipes that looks impressive but is surprisingly simple to make. Recipes like this remind me why I fell in love with cooking in the first placeβbringing good food to the table doesn’t have to be complicated.
I’ve included the recipe below, and I hope you’ll give it a try. If you do, I’d love to hear what you think!
After all, some of the best memories are made around the dinner table. π

I’d love to get to know you better too! Leave a comment and tell me:
What’s one thing you’d like help with in the kitchen right now?
Thank you for stopping by, and thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your kitchen journey.
Here’s to less drive-thru, more home cooking, and plenty of delicious memories along the way.
