☀️ The Summer Bucket List for Your Kitchen

Summer has officially arrived, and if you’re anything like me, you’re ready for longer days, fresh fruit, backyard gatherings, and a little more fun in the kitchen.

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that food isn’t just about feeding our families. Some of our best memories happen around the table, on the patio, at a picnic, or even standing around the kitchen island sneaking bites before dinner.

As many of you know, I didn’t really start cooking until I was 50. Before Pampered Chef, I was the self-proclaimed Drive-Thru Queen! These days, I still love keeping things simple, but I’ve discovered that cooking at home can create moments and memories that are worth so much more than a quick trip through a drive-thru.

So this summer, I thought it would be fun to create a Summer Bucket List for the Kitchen. No pressure, no perfection—just simple ways to enjoy the season and make a few delicious memories along the way.

🌞 My Summer Kitchen Bucket List

☐ Make Homemade Frozen Treats

Nothing says summer quite like a cold treat on a hot day. Whether it’s frozen yogurt, soft-serve, smoothies, or homemade popsicles, treat yourself to something refreshing.

☐ Try a New Grilling Recipe

Step outside your usual burger-and-hotdog routine and try something new. Shrimp, chicken, vegetables, fruit, and even pizza can be amazing on the grill.

☐ Have Breakfast Outside

Coffee tastes better on the patio. Trust me. Add a simple breakfast and you’ve got the perfect summer morning.

☐ Visit a Farmers Market

Pick up a fruit or vegetable you’ve never tried before and challenge yourself to create something new with it.

☐ Create the Ultimate Snackle Box

Perfect for road trips, baseball games, pool days, or simply surviving a busy afternoon. Fill it with fruits, veggies, cheese, crackers, and a few fun treats.

☐ Host a Casual Get-Together

Forget perfection. Invite friends over for appetizers, desserts, or a simple meal. Sometimes the best gatherings are the least complicated.

☐ Make a Summertime Dessert

Fresh berries, peaches, pineapple, lemon… summer desserts practically make themselves when the ingredients are this good.

☐ Cook Together

Whether it’s your kids, grandkids, spouse, or a friend, invite someone into the kitchen with you. Cooking together often creates the memories we remember most.

☐ Enjoy a Picnic

Your backyard counts. So does your living room floor with the air conditioner blasting. The point is to make mealtime feel a little special.

☐ Try One New Recipe

You never know when you’ll discover your next family favorite.

🍓 A Little Summer Reminder

Summer has a way of flying by. Before we know it, the kids are headed back to school, the days are getting shorter, and we’re wondering where the season went.

So don’t worry about making every meal perfect. Focus on the moments. The laughter around the table. The sticky fingers from watermelon. The extra scoop of dessert. The conversations that happen when everyone slows down long enough to share a meal.

Those are the things that matter.

And if you’re looking for a delicious recipe to add to your summer bucket list, I’m sharing one of my favorites: Summer Fruit & Spinach Salad. It’s fresh, colorful, easy to make, and tastes like summertime in a bowl!

Here’s to a summer filled with good food, happy memories, and plenty of reasons to gather around the table.
